What is Agritourism? It is loosely defined as travel that combines agricultural or rural settings and products within a tourism experience. It includes providing visitors with a broad spectrum of agriculturally-based experiences ranging from fruit and vegetable stand shopping (direct farm marketing) to winery, orchard, garden and alpaca tours, from farm-based bed and breakfast accommodation, to participation in harvest festivals, farmer's markets and cattle drives.

Agritourism advantages for farm operators include: developing new consumer market niches, increasing awareness of local agricultural products, creating greater appreciation of the importance of maintaining agricultural land uses, providing farm family members with on-site employment opportunities, and strengthening the long-term sustainability for farm businesses.
For rural communities and regions, Agritourism can be a vehicle for diversifying and stabilizing rural economies by: creating jobs and increasing community income, providing a broader market base for local businesses; and attracting other businesses and small industries. Fivizzano in Toscana - Itinerario naturalistico
Uscendo dalla Porta Sarzanese di Fivizzano, arrivati all'incrocio della statale del Cerreto con quella della Garfagnana, si entra nella valle del Lucido. Il Lucido è uno degli affluenti del Magra. Questa valle fu abitata in tempi antichissimi, i primi insediamenti risalgono al Paleolitico come dimostrano i reperti archeologici rinvenuti ad Equi.
Il primo paese che incontriamo lungo la statale è Gassano e da qui si raggiunge Gragnola. Le origni sue sono incerte, probabilmente furono legate ai transiti viari medievali in corrispondenza del borgo, sebbene non si escludano insediamenti precedenti (Liguri-Apuani e Romani). In epoca medievale, fu un importante centro di commercio mercantile, lo dimostra la numerosa presenza di botteghe e corti all'interno del borgo.
